So, Just How Do We Get Wax from a Bean?
A vertible mountain of raw soybeans...A 60 pound bushel is the traditional farm measure. When soybeans are processed they are crushed and pressed to separate the soybean meal from the oil. In each 60 pound bushel, 49 pounds of soy meal and 11 pounds of oil are produced. The 49 pounds of soy meal are where the protein content of the soybean is.

Soy meal is processed into animal feeds and foods for human consumption such as soy milk, tofu, texturized soy protein-a meat substitute such as "veggie-burgers" and other meat subsitutes and many other applications. At SoyaWax International, we take the 11 pounds of soybean oil out of each 60 pound bushel and make it into soybean wax by a process of partial hydrogenation of the soybean oil and addition of natural ingredients. Our company was the first in the world to invent soybean wax for the candle industry.

Be aware many companies today sell what they all soy candles and soy wax while still containing petroleum/paraffin content.

Did you know? The candle industry has absolutely no labeling disclosure requirements with regard to the nature of the wax you purchase. If you use SoyaWax you can use our seal of purity.

SoyaWax is water soluble and can be easily extracted from glass, tin, and other material for effective recycling. It is made from safe food grade sources and does not contain any petroleum or chemicals. SoyaWax is so completely non-toxic that the raw wax is actually edible! And foods can be safely cooked in SoyaWax (without fragrance or color added), just as any cooking oil in your kitchen. Now you have the environmentally sensible alternative: SoyaWax for clean burning candles.

SoyaWax is:

  • 100% from renewable plant/agricultural sources.
  • naturally made. Our wax goes from farm to field to candle wax in just a few steps of crop harvesting and refinement not processing.
  • as natural as you can get!
